River Adur
Park just south of Bramber on the side of the A283, where the South Downs Way crosses. Walk south to visit the dilapidated brutalist grandeur of the old cement works, alongside which runs a section of the rail track that used to bring people to work there. An old buffer stop – with rusting metal base and rotting wooden beam – can be found in the undergrowth still. Or north up to Bramber Castle. See how much birdlife you can spot – maybe even a kingfisher, and maybe even take a dip!
