Jill started her life in Brighton and was known as Lashmar’s New Mill. In 1821, she was pulled by oxen to her current location where she stood beside the Old Duncton Post Mill. He was later dismantled and Jack, a brick tower mill was built in his place. Today Jack is a private home while Jill is still a working mill and is open to the public on most Sundays between May and September.
