The route
Park in the free car park at East Dean, cross over the village green and walk down Went
Way.
At the end of that road pick up the public bridal way sign and follow it up a grassy hill and into woodlands.
At the top of the track, bear left, heading towards the red-roofed flint farm building.
Walk towards the sea until you pick up the sign for the South Downs Way to the right (west).
Walk over three of the sisters. At the flint monument with the seats around it on top of the 3rd hill (Flagstaff Brow), drop down one more hill into the dean and take that well-worn pathway inland.
Follow the track up through Crowlink, and just after the car park take the footpath to your right, and bear right in the field alongside the wall. Where the wall recesses, there are some stone steps which help you over the two walls. Turn left downhill.
At the bottom is a metal gate with a narrow concrete footpath between houses. This takes you back into the village of East Dean.
